Oct 24, 2023Business Courier: How did Breeze Airlines fare at CVG in 2023?
Cincinnati Business Courier / Chris Wetterich / October 24, 2023Leisure carrier Breeze Airways expanded aggressively at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport in its first year here, offering five nonstop destinations, with two of them continuing past the peak travel season.Travel to two of the markets thrived, with passengers filling at least eight out of every 10 seats, while two others saw fewer than 7 out of every 10 seats filled. In 2023, Breeze flew to San Francisco; Charleston, S.C.; Providence, R.I.; Orange County, Calif.; and Richmond, Va. The Richmond flight proceeded onto Jacksonville, Fla., so CVG passengers had that option as well.Overall, 73% of Breeze’s 58,291 seats out of CVG were filled in 2023 through July, the latest month data is available from the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. Domestic U.S. airlines saw 84% of their seats filled in 2022, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. From 2014 to 2019, that number ranged between 84% and 85%.“We are pleased with our performance at CVG since we began service back in February, and this summer was no exception,” said Breeze spokesman Gareth Edmondson-Jones.[FULL STORY HERE](https://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2023/10/24/how-did-breeze-airlines-perform-at-cvg-in-2023.html)Read more
